Couleur Café 2006 in Fælledparken In Copenhagen
The Couleur Café is a festival with African music celebrated in Denmark, Belgium and other countries in Europe. The fourth Couleur Café in Copenhagen was celebrated Sunday the 25'th of June 2006 in Fælledparken in Copenhagen.
Several bands performed in the Park that day. The first band to open this 1 day festival was Gangbé Brass Band from Benin, who played an interesting mix of brass band sounds and voodoo rhythms with a touch of American Jazz. Katamanto Highlife Orchestra played Highlife dance music originating from Ghana. Basiru Suso from Gambia played songs on the Cora. Wakilo an afro-fusion band from Denmark played afro beat and The Kente Dancers performed with drums and dance.
People were enjoying in the sun and dancing on the grass on this wonderful day, to all this great African music. Arranged by Venskabsforeningen Danmark-VestAfrika, With support from DCCD, Copenhagen culture foundation, Verdensmusik, SN Brussels Airlines and Figaro Vine bar.Click photos to enlarge
